Hi, I'm Markus. 😊 I'm a professional software developer specialising in backend web services and distributed systems, but I also like building web products, full-stack style. I've been building web sites and programming since my early teens.
My main programming language is Go. I like Go for its simplicity, maintainability, modernity, and for a lot of other reasons. I hope to show you a useful thing or two in Go on this blog.
In a former life, I was a PhD student at Computer Science, Aarhus University, Denmark, but for a multitude of reasons I ended up aborting that and going to work for Uber for four years instead. At Uber, my professional career got a kickstart in a really fast-paced environment. I learnt the ins and outs of building and maintaining storage infrastructure literally used by millions of people every day.
These days, I'm an independent software consultant and indie hacker, splitting my time between consulting work, working on open source projects, and getting this blog started as a learning resource for other developers.
I hope you will enjoy my writing.
See you again soon! 👋
